This Friday night is the halfway mark in the season, as we all take a pause in the program so we all can enjoy the period and relax.  On behalf of the Springwood Sharks  Committee, we wish all members a safe, fun Christmas and New year and we really look forward to recommencement of the program and what great things 2026 will bring.

There is no official event program for the night, but:

  1. It will be a fun one.

  2. No uniform is required.

  3. It is recommended that all wear clothing that are able to get wet (and maybe bring a change of clothes and a towel as well).

  4. ALL TINY TOTS (Both Wed and Fri) will join in from 6pm.

  5. We are expecting a visit from the man in Red

  6. All athletes will receive a 'sausage on bread'

STATE RELAYS

Good luck to all our athletes competing at the State Relays at QEII Stadium (Nathan) on Saturday.    Detailed emails went out to participants but =

COACHING

We thank everyone for their participation in our coaching program this season so far.  Like everyone, our coaches will be taking a little bit of a break to enjoy the Christmas period and we will restart our extra coaching sessions in the new year.

For those wanting to keep moving during the break, here are a few videos (youtube) that the athletes can do in their back yards,

Ever thought about coaching?! As you can see, we can only offer coaching around our coaches and their schedules, which leads me to introduce the following initiative.

Hey Sharkie parents,

We're excited to announce an awesome opportunity coming up for parents to get involved and help our club grow!

As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance the experience and skill development for our athletes, we're looking for interested parents to complete a Level 1 Queensland Athletics coaching course, and we're covering the cost!

Here's the deal:

If you're interested in learning to coach and advancing your skill set, we want to hear from you!

We'll cover 50% of the course cost upfront, and if you commit to weekly or fortnightly coaching for the rest of the season, we'll cover the remaining 50%!

Not only will you be supporting our club and athletes, but you'll also gain valuable skills and experience.

If you're keen to get involved and make a difference, please reply to this post or send me a message expressing your interest. We'll provide more details on the course and next steps.

Don't miss out on this fantastic opportunity to be part of our club's growth and development!

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Coach Jez
