FRIDAY'S SHARKS UNLEASHED PROGRAM

SHARKS UNLEASHED LEADERBOARD AFTER WEEK 1

Well done to all the athletes on Friday.  Yes, it was a long night for some age-groups, and we apologise for the delays at Hurdles, BUT this week should be back to a more condensed program.  We saw 475 pbs overall (the Under 7s and U8s contributed 156 of them), and two Centre Records (to be ratified) were broken with Harry Liu (U11) bettering his own 1500m record by 4 seconds and Dulein Hettiarachchi taking 1 second of the U11 Boys 80m Hurdle Record.  Well bone boys.

This Friday sees ALL the Tiny Tots (both Wednesday and Friday groups) participating in their Mini-Olympics as well as the U6s getting involved in the Sharks Unleased and the competition for U9s to U17s continues - It is important to remember, even if you did not attend last Friday, there is still the opportunity to join in this Friday and maybe pick up a PB ribbon (U7/U8) or an event medal/ribbon.

As this state of the week, I would like to remind everyone that our wet weather procedure is to publish any alteration to Friday's program and coaching sessions via our Facebook Page (https://www.facebook.com/springwoodsharks) and Closed Facebook Group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/springwoodsharks).  We do try to advise as early as possible, while giving us all chances of holding the program and will only post if there is any changes to the program.  Please note that should we have to cancel Friday's program, we will complete the Sharks Unleash Program next Friday night.

FRIDAY'S SHARKS UNLEASHED PROGRAM

Friday night sees the start of our 'Sharks Unleashed' Championships.

Some KEY information re: the next two weeks)

  • For Turbo Tots and U6s, it is a standard centre evening program for you, with all the fun and skill development you normally get.  Your 'Mini-Olympics' will occur next Friday night (27 February).

  • For U7s and U8s, you will all receive a PB Challenge card (Shown below).  Over the next two weeks, you will test yourself to improve the 'MARK' (The first recorded time/distance/height for an event).  You will be rewarded for every 'star' you achieve each week.

  • For U9 to U12s, you will receive points for every event you do based on your results - the more events you do, the more points you will achieve over the two weeks, with an overall points winner being awarded as Age Group All-Star Champion.

  • For Under 13  and U14 to U17s we will be awarding based on Sprints Champion (100m, 200m, Short and Long Hurdles), Distance Champion (400m, 800m, 1500m), Jumps Champion (High, Long, Triple) and Throws (Discus, Javelin, Shot Put)

  • There will be awards for 'EVENT' winners (1st, 2nd and 3rd) across all events in all age groups U9+ and up

  • For the U9 - U17 Athletes, the overall Champions will not be awarded on  the night (we have to do some calculations)

  • For all age groups, you will remain together as a single group and move as and when directed.
