Having a good week, Sharkies
Welcome to the new week at the Sharks. Before we get into the update, we need to take a moment and recognise Lachie Frohlich for breaking the U14 Boys Centre record in the 800m, but it was missed due to an administrative issue.
Anyway, this week is exciting, with our Centre Coaches evening. The night aims to provide targeted skills development for our athletes through a series of structured coaching sessions. Athletes have the opportunity to learn from experienced coaches across a variety of disciplines. Athletes can choose from:
BLOCK 1: 6 PM TO 6:45 PM
U6 / U7 SKILLS DEVELOPMENT | STARTS | SHOT PUT | DISCUS | JAVELIN | HIGH JUMP BEGINNER FLOP | HIGH JUMP SCISSORS | LONG JUMP
BLOCK 2: 6:50 PM TO 7:35 PM
SPRINTS | MIDDLE DISTANCE | SHOT PUT | DISCUS | HIGH JUMP ADVANCED FLOP | HIGH JUMP SCISSORS | LONG JUMP | TRIPLE JUMP
BLOCK 3: 7:40 TO 8:25 PM
SPRINTS | MIDDLE DISTANCE | WALKS | JAVELIN | ROTATIONAL THROWING | HIGH JUMP ADVANCED FLOP | HIGH JUMP SCISSORS | LONG JUMP | TRIPLE JUMP
We will be taking athletes' coaching sessions on Friday night, but as some sessions have limited numbers, we highly recommend you register early for your evening sessions via this form.

COACHING

Ever thought about coaching?! As you can see, we can only offer coaching around our coaches and their schedules, which leads me to introduce the following initiative.
Hey Sharkie parents,
We're excited to announce an awesome opportunity coming up for parents to get involved and help our club grow!
As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance the experience and skill development for our athletes, we're looking for interested parents to complete a Level 1 Queensland Athletics coaching course, and we're covering the cost!
Here's the deal:
If you're interested in learning to coach and advancing your skill set, we want to hear from you!
We'll cover 50% of the course cost upfront, and if you commit to weekly or fortnightly coaching for the rest of the season, we'll cover the remaining 50%!
Not only will you be supporting our club and athletes, but you'll also gain valuable skills and experience.
If you're keen to get involved and make a difference, please reply to this post or send me a message expressing your interest. We'll provide more details on the course and next steps.
Don't miss out on this fantastic opportunity to be part of our club's growth and development!
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Coach Jez
