Weekly Update - Friday Nov 21

We apologise for the start/stop of last week.  We really tried to get up last Friday, but were beaten by a fast-moving storm.  Well played, Storm. Well played.

However, we will get our revenge tomorrow night - it's looking good at this stage.

Another reminder that Friday 20 Feb and Friday 27 Feb have been set aside for our Sharks 'Unleashed" event (aka Centre Championships).  Sharks Unleashed is an alternative to a 'Centre Championships'

  • Tiny Tots and U6s will compete in a mini-olympics  over the two weeks

  • U7S and U8S participate in the PB Challenge - where it's not about where you finish in an event, it's about how much you have improved from the start of the season.

  • U9 to U12 participate in the All-Star Challenge across all events.

  • U13 and Up have the Ultimate Showdown, competing in Throws, Jumps, Runs and Multi-(1 jump, 1 throw and 1 track)

Further details and promotion will commence shortly but at this stage, just save the dates.

COACHING

Unfortunately, due to other commitments, most of our coaches are unavailable his week for coaching sessions.

Currently, we only have an All Ages Fundamental Skills session scheduled for Monday, 24 November (4:00 pm).

Watch our socials for any further sessions we may add.

PLEASE NOTE - Rachel's regular Saturday throws sessions won't be run this Saturday (22 November) due to coach availability.

Ever thought about coaching?! As you can see, we can only offer coaching around our coaches and their schedules, which leads me to introduce the following initiative.

Hey Sharkie parents,

We're excited to announce an awesome opportunity coming up for parents to get involved and help our club grow!

As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance the experience and skill development for our athletes, we're looking for interested parents to complete a Level 1 Queensland Athletics coaching course, and we're covering the cost!

Here's the deal:

If you're interested in learning to coach and advancing your skill set, we want to hear from you!

We'll cover 50% of the course cost upfront, and if you commit to weekly or fortnightly coaching for the rest of the season, we'll cover the remaining 50%!

Not only will you be supporting our club and athletes, but you'll also gain valuable skills and experience.

If you're keen to get involved and make a difference, please reply to this post or send me a message expressing your interest. We'll provide more details on the course and next steps.

Don't miss out on this fantastic opportunity to be part of our club's growth and development!

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Coach Jez
