Little Athletics Queensland has released a update to the uniform policy, that Springwood Little Athletics will be operating under for the 2023/2024.

In the policy, A) LAQ recognises that the style of uniform an athlete chooses to wear is a matter of personal preference. Parents/caregivers have the responsibility to ensure athletes are attired appropriately, considering factors such as Sun protection, Athlete comfort, Religious beliefs, Age appropriateness. B) All athletes are still required to be in correct Centre uniform, confirming to LAQ approved design and colour. C) The updated uniform policy only impacts uniforms, it does not remove other policies including the Sun Safe policy
UNIFORM TOPS: All Athletes may choose to wear polo shirt, singlet, crop top, t-shirt, bodysuit or crop top in the colours and design approved for their Centre by LAQ. This means all ages can wear crop tops, polos and/or singlets. Given the timeframe, some items will not be available until late August, or earlier in the season and some listed choices above will not be available unless demand requires it (eg Bodysuits might need a demand and some time for us to source and get approved by LAQ).

UNIFORM BOTTOMS: Athlete bottoms shall comply with the approved centre uniform colour or be predominantly black. Bike pants, compression garments and shorts shall be above knee length for walks events. Athletes not in walks events may wear full length compression garments or tights on their legs. A manufacturers logo is permitted provided it is no larger than 5cm x 5cm. This means athletes of ANY age is able to wear compression pants as a choice (a major change from season past (logo size restrictions apply). This season, Springwood will hold a range of shorts and bike pants (female cut) for sale in our primary base colour of Maroon. We will not be purchasing male cut bike pants this season but should your athlete choose to wear this, black would be acceptable (logo size restrictions apply).

LOGO & PATCH PLACEMENT CHANGES FOR 2023-2024 Registration bibs are to be affixed to the front of the uniform top and must be entirely visible. The age label is to be attached to the top-left breast for all Centre uniforms, including crop tops and singlets. (See image) Patches will no longer permitted on the sleeve or bottoms. The Coles patch is to be attached to the right breast of all Centre uniforms. These patches are required to be sewn on and are to cover any previous logos/patches.
